NFL Loser Football Pools

The Loser Football Pool is a very unique kind of football pool, with scoring based on the previous season's finish. It's a fun and exciting format with most of the worthwhile picks being playoff teams from the previous season, and you're hoping they'll lose. It's not as easy as it sounds. Standings can have huge swings week in and week out, especially when a popular pick pulls off a win.

Fun Fact: The Loser Football Pool is the reason Hosted Pools was originally created. We couldn't find it anywhere online.

How to Play

  1. Each NFL team has a corresponding point value relative to their performance in the previous season.
  2. Entrants pick one team each week of the NFL season (including the play-offs) to lose.
  3. If the team selected loses, the entry earns the point value associated with the team as their score for the week.
  4. If the team selected wins or ties, the entry earns zero points for the week.
  5. The entry with the most total points at the end of the play offs is the winner.
  6. There is no limit to the number of times an entrant can select a team.

Options

Default Picks - Choose from several options to assign a pick to an entry that doesn't make a selection prior to the deadline.
Loser Football Pools will be available on or before 2025/06/01 12:00pm.

  • Apr 1, 2026 - The Intercontinental and UEFA playoff winners have been decided and added to the site, so the group stage schedule is now complete for 2026 World Cup pools!
  • Dec 5, 2025 - The 2026 FIFA World Cup draw was completed earlier today, and Canada gets a tough break potentially getting Italy as a Pot 4 team. Once the schedule is set, we will get it loaded and make pools available for the tournament. If you have any questions about our World Cup pools, please reach out via our contact form.
