NFL Margin Football Pools

The Margin Football Pool is a highly entertaining format and like a number of our other non-standard formats is susceptible to big swings in standings. The goal is to pick a team each week that is going to win big as your score for the week is the difference in your picks score vs their opponents score. You can only pick a team once for the season, so it's often good to look at the schedule, plan ahead and save a couple solid teams for later in the season.

The Margin Football Pool is also sometimes referred to as a Plus/Minus Football Pool.

How to Play

  1. Entrants pick one team each week of the NFL regular season with the intention of the selection winning big.
  2. If the team selected wins the entry earns the margin of victory as their score for the week (ie. win by 7, earn 7 points).
  3. If the team selected loses, the entry gets the negative margin of defeat as their score for the week (ie. lose by 3, earn -3 points).
  4. The entry with the most total points at the end of the regular season is the winner.
  5. Teams may only be selected one time for the duration of the pool.
