As we respect the privacy of our visitors, we ask only for minimal personal information used to identify you including, but not limited to, your username, name, address and e-mail address. This information is used solely for the purposes of administering the website and will not be sold, distributed or displayed to any entities or individuals outside of Hosted Pools. The manager or administrator of any pool you are a member of will also have access to your name and email address, for the purpose of administering their pool. Other members of any pool you are a member of will be able to see your name and username, but not your personal information.
Like many other Web sites, Hosted Pools makes use of log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol ( IP ) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider ( ISP ), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.
Collecting your email address enables us to make the site easier to use for you. For example, if you forget your password, the website can automatically send you a new password email.
Collecting the anonymous demographic and behavioural information from the log files, assists us in improving our service. Knowing where visitors spend alot of time on the site, what type of browsers they use, etc., is very valuable when planning and developing upgrades and adding new features.
All passwords are one-way encrypted before being stored in our database, so no one from Hosted Pools can read them, even those with direct database access.
